In partnership with designboom, Nissan has invited artists from around the world to design an exclusive signature version of the 2026 Micra.
My proposal explores the intersection of art and industrial design: where function meets emotion. Despite my natural tendency to overcomplicate simple things, one phrase has guided every technical and aesthetic decision: “Minimal, but impactful.”

Asymmetry as a Signature
Asymmetry, an essential element of my creative process, emerged naturally. It breaks with traditional automotive conventions to highlight the unique character of the new Micra. It is this duality that transforms a mass-produced object into a singular, vibrant work of art.

A visual dialogue in motion
From the very first glance, the car makes a strong statement. As you get closer, the richness of its details becomes apparent, creating a balance that invites you to view the vehicle from every angle.

This interplay between pure aesthetics and industrial ergonomics comes to life the moment you start the engine:
Digital interface: The animation on the main screen ripples out in waves of color.
Interior immersion: Textures and color accents are featured on the pedals, air vents, steering wheel, and center console.
Overall coherence: These simple graphic elements echo the exterior design, enhancing the sensory experience inside the vehicle.

The Creative Epicenter
Starting from an epicenter located on the Micra’s roof, my design wraps around the bodywork to reveal its identity. My approach is intended to be minimalist, bold, and balanced, yet imbued with the visual complexity that defines my artistic signature.

It was an honor to participate in this international competition alongside 100 other artists and to be among 11 exceptional finalists.
