À jamais dans nos coeur

Arts

How does one give shape to the memory of an entire life? When words became too heavy to express the loss of my grandmother, I turned to my studio. To pay tribute to her, I had to return to the basics: structure and light.

In this work, the outline of a house takes shape. It evokes the pillar she was for our family, that anchor where everyone found refuge. At the base of the structure, a golden form stands out. This gold represents the radiance of her generosity; it is a symbol of her home, which always stood wide open to anyone in need.

Through the relief and the material, I sought to capture, not a sense of mourning, but her life as a luminous space. A celebration of her warmth, which continues to live within us.
